Do I Need to Be Home?

No. Doorstep pickup in Tampa is designed so that nobody waits around for a window, and the overwhelming majority of collections happen while the donor is at work, at school pickup, or out on the water.

Where Should the Boxes Go at a Tampa House?

Enter your ZIP code on the Give My Books Network site. If a Local Pick-Up Partner serves it, you can lock in a service day on the spot; if not, the request goes into the out-of-area pickup system, where a partner working nearby may claim it.

Remember who does what. The donor packs the books into cartons or sturdy bags, and the Local Pick-Up Partner does not bring boxes. Pack the night before if that suits you. Just carry them out in the morning.

Long Driveways, Side Gates, and Carrollwood Cul-de-Sacs

Say where the cartons are when you schedule, because a partner who cannot find them cannot load them. A hundred-foot driveway in Carrollwood, a locked side gate, a house number swallowed by a hedge — each of those turns a two-minute stop into a phone call.

• Unlock the side gate on the morning of the service day, or leave the boxes out front instead.
• Make the house number readable from a slowly moving vehicle.
• If your street runs behind a community gate, clear the pickup with the gate the way you would clear a contractor.
• On a long drive, stage the cartons near the top of it rather than at the door.

Why the Morning and Not the Night Before?
