How Does Book Donation Pick Up Work in Minneapolis?

A Local Pick-Up Partner is the locally owned family business that does the collecting in your part of the city. A real neighbor with a vehicle and a service route, not a national carrier passing through. The network has worked this way since 2008, and more than 200,000 books have moved through it since.

1. Enter your ZIP code. If a partner already serves it, you can book a service day immediately.
2. If no partner serves your ZIP code yet, submit the request anyway. It enters the out-of-area pickup system, where partners working nearby may claim it.
3. Pack your books. Boxes, totes, banker's boxes, doubled paper bags. No sorting required.
4. Set everything out by 8 AM in a dry, covered spot.
5. Leave for work. Collection happens between 8 AM and 8 PM.

What does not work is anything mold-damaged, water-swollen, or missing pages.
