What Media Does Give My Books Network Collect in Miami?

Give My Books Network accepts nearly all physical media in Miami, and it can go out in the same pickup as your books. Cases help but are not required.

Loose discs in a sleeve or a binder still travel fine. A disc with a scratch you can catch with a fingernail is probably finished, but let the partner make that call rather than pre-judging your own collection at the kitchen table.

Why Vinyl Deserves Its Own Paragraph in Miami

Records are the most climate-sensitive thing on this list, and Miami is close to the worst possible city for them. Heat warps. Humidity grows mildew in the sleeves.

A crate that has been sitting in an Allapattah garage for a decade may have jackets that are speckled and vinyl that is perfectly fine underneath, and the vinyl is what matters. • Bag the discs inside the box and keep the box off bare concrete.
• Set everything out the morning of your service day. An afternoon downpour between May and October will find a cardboard box of records and finish it.

Do People Really Still Want This?

Yes, and more than you would guess. Physical media has a stubborn second life: senior centers use DVDs, tutoring programs use audiobooks, and collectors want vinyl and always will.
