How to Prepare an Estate's Books

Pack everything in boxes or sturdy bags ahead of pickup day. The donor packs — the partner does not bring boxes — so plan to have moving boxes, banker's boxes, or doubled grocery bags on hand and the books packed before service day. If you need a few extra days, schedule the pickup a week or two out.

You do not need to sort or organize anything. With estates, families are usually managing a hundred other things. Sorting through every shelf is not on the list. Mix everything together in the boxes.
