## The Common Situation

You've inherited a relative's library. Or you're downsizing. Or you're clearing a parents' house. The books are not the only thing on the to-do list, but the volume is real, and traditional drop-off options aren't built for it.

Public libraries have intake limits. Thrift stores can't absorb thousands of books. Loading a sedan trunk and driving across town becomes a multi-day project nobody has time for.

## How Free Doorstep Pickup Handles Large Collections

Local Pick-Up Partners across Goodyear handle bulk pickups regularly — full estate libraries, classroom cleanouts, full-house downsizings, garages that have built up over decades.

Plan to have everything packed into boxes or sturdy bags before the partner arrives — the partner does not bring boxes. If you need more time, schedule a week or two out. Most large pickups in Goodyear take an hour or two on site loading the already-packed boxes.

## Where Large Collections Go in Goodyear

Title I schools across the West Valley, ESL classrooms, after-school tutoring programs, senior centers, homeless shelters, prison literacy programs, and rural Little Free Libraries all submit requests through the Give ME Books program. A large collection often supplies several of those at once. Some items are resold by Local Pick-Up Partners. Items that cannot be reused may eventually be recycled as a last resort. The American Library Association's Book Donation Programs guide (https://libguides.ala.org/book-donations) describes how large donations are typically routed.

Give My Books Network is a nationwide community book-sharing network, and the Goodyear pickups are handled by independent Local Pick-Up Partners who live and work in the same neighborhoods you do. Many items collected end up with schools, libraries, and literacy programs that request books through the Give ME Books program.
