New, Old, Children's books, College textbooks, Library books, Religious books, Non-Fiction, Fiction, Picture books, Hardcovers, Paperbacks, Coffee table books, and even Encyclopedias!

The only items universally rejected are Magazines, Newspapers, and moldy or mildewed books. All other items depend on the specific partner servicing your area.

Many partners accept: CDs, DVDs, Video Games, Vinyl Records, and Audio Books. Only SOME partners accept: VHS Tapes, Audio Cassettes, Board Games, Puzzles, and Software. Check with your pickup partner to confirm what they accept.

We are America's Nationwide Community Book-Sharing Network. Local family businesses we call Pick-Up Partners collect your books, resell them at bookstores, flea markets, community book sales, and online. This supports their families, their employees, and covers the costs of the free pickup service. Partners can also donate books through our Give ME Books program to schools, libraries, and community organizations. Recycling is always a last resort.

No. We are a network of local family businesses we call Pick-Up Partners. Partners resell your used books to earn a living. This income supports their families, pays employees, and covers the costs of providing you this free service. Everyone wins: you declutter for free, Partners earn income, and books stay out of landfills.

Since we are not a nonprofit, you cannot claim a tax deduction for donating to Give My Books Network. Our Pick-Up Partners are family businesses, not 501(c)(3) organizations.

We still come! Please place your items in waterproof containers or plastic bags. If the weather is severe, text your pickup partner to coordinate. Note: We cannot pick up rain-soaked books.

Place your items in boxes or sturdy bags. Do NOT leave loose books outside. Leave them in a visible, accessible location like your front porch or driveway by 8 AM. Please do NOT leave the containers — we take the books only. See our pickup guidelines for more details.

We pick up between 8 AM and 8 PM on your scheduled day. Please have your items out by 8 AM. You'll receive a confirmation email with your scheduled date.

There's no limit, usually! We welcome donations of any size. For very large donations (like an entire library), please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Yes! If you have a large collection or prefer to donate in batches, you can schedule multiple pickup dates. Just submit a new request for each pickup day you need.

Schools, libraries, and community organizations can request books through our Give ME Books program. Submit a request and we'll connect you with donated books based on availability. Please note there may be delays as we match organizations with appropriate donations.

We serve the entire United States, including Alaska and Hawaii! We started in Ann Arbor, Michigan in September 2024 and are rapidly expanding. Enter your ZIP code on our homepage to see which Partners serve your area.

No problem! You can still submit a pickup request. If a Partner serves your ZIP code, you'll see their calendar and can schedule a specific date. If no Partner is assigned yet, your request goes out to Partners in nearby areas who may claim it and expand their route. Either way, we'll keep you updated.

Not at all. An ancient proverb says, "To the making of many books, there is no end." Libraries are essential, and we encourage you to donate there if you want. But libraries have restrictions: they often can't accept textbooks, encyclopedias, old editions, or large quantities. We don't have those restrictions. Hard or soft, old or new, no matter the topic — if it's a book, we'll take it. Libraries across the country actually use our pickup service, and they can request books through our Give ME Books program. We handle the overflow.

Occasionally, yes, but it's always a last resort. Our Pick-Up Partners work hard to resell or donate every book possible. Some items simply can't find a home: severely damaged books, outdated materials, or items with no market. Rest assured, we minimize waste and maximize the life of your donations.
